Services Can Help Pay the Rising Costs of Energy Bills

If you are struggling to pay your service utilities bills, there are services in San Angelo to help. Doris Brewer is San Angelo’s social service director, and her office allocates the Texas Department of Housing and Community Affair’s Comprehensive Energy Assistance Program that can help you or your family. The amounts are negotiated on a need basis. Mrs. Brewer is especially concerned for the elderly who might be on set budgets and cannot afford the rising cost of power. This can be especially dangerous when people have to choose between not paying for the electric bill or turning off their air conditioner in the coming months. If you are having trouble paying for your bills or you know of someone who is you can contact her office at the Tom Greene County Health Department at (915) 657-4400 to set up an appointment. The address is 2 City Hall Plaza, San Angelo, downtown next to the auditorium.
